More Women Seeking Cosmetic Surgery Before Nuptials

Jul 3, 2018

Cosmetic surgeons across the country confirm that they are seeing an ever-increasing number of patients who want aesthetic procedures performed before their wedding day. Of course, it’s natural to want to look one’s best since all eyes will be on the bride — so will cameras and videographers. The photos of one’s wedding take on a life of their own and are special keepsakes. Though no scientific research has been performed to find out why there is an increase, some speculate it’s due to the popularity of the reality TV show “Bridalplasty” where engaged women fight it out to win money and the cosmetic surgery of their choice. Houston cosmetic surgeon, Anthony Nikko, M.D., offers a bridal package so the bride can look her best, but Dr. Nikko reminds his brides that depending on the procedure, it can take a few months for the final results to develop, so timing is everything. Some brides seek rhinoplasty or breast augmentation, but some simply want a quick tune-up with Botox or dermal fillers. Though men seem to be the fastest growing group seeking cosmetic surgery, there is no indication that the cable networks will launch any shows about “Groomplasty.”
