Causes of Alopecia
Alopecia areata is caused when the immune system attacks the hair follicles, leading to rapid loss of hair. Similarly, androgenetic alopecia results from inheriting hair follicles that are sensitive to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a derivative of the testosterone hormone.
